Syncing error in Beaver

Legacy Beta Plan

This documentation page is only relevant for the legacy beta plan with cloud-based file processing.

If you see a syncing error in Beaver, it means that the syncing process failed or is incomplete. Follow these steps to address syncing errors in Beaver:

Step 1: Sync your data

Try syncing your data manually to ensure all recent changes are up to date:

  • If you sync your Zotero library with Zotero's cloud service: First, click the Zotero sync icon in the top right corner to sync with Zotero, then click the "Sync with Beaver" icon next to the account icon in Beaver to sync with Beaver.
  • If you don't use Zotero's cloud sync: Click the "Sync with Beaver" icon next to the account icon in the top right corner in Beaver (you can also sync specific libraries from preferences).

Check for sync errors: Look for a small red dot on the sync icon or in your library settings. If you see sync errors that persist after attempting to manually sync, contact us at contact@beaverapp.ai.

Step 2: Verify your data

If syncing doesn't resolve the issue:

  1. Go to Beaver settings
  2. Click Verify Data
  3. Wait for the process to complete (this may take several minutes for large libraries)
  4. Try accessing the file again

Step 3: Contact support

If the problem persists after following these steps, please reach out to contact@beaverapp.ai for assistance.
